A microfluidic capillary-based system was used to obtain polymer microfibers functionalized at the surface by thiol functions in a simple and rapid step. The UV-irradiated system permitted to polymerize a stream of acrylates leading to the formation of the microfiber, and surface modification by reaction at the interface with reactive molecules present in the continuous phase. In particular, the modification of the surface of fibers with thiol groups improved the adhesion of cells to their surface.
